This powerful program can be taken on its own or as part of the certification pathway for Zen Leadership. Taught by experts in Zen, bodywork, plus several other somatic modalities, this course changes lives by changing bodies. Participants often describe it as an accelerant to Zen training, as it unwinds tension and previously unconscious points of resistance that open one’s body to a more natural, free way of being. In addition to exploring the subtleties of Zen meditation, Somatic Zen includes traditional Chozen-ji practices like tai chi and vocal resonance along with contemporary somatic and embodiment techniques such as TRE (tension and trauma release exercises), yin yoga and awareness-through-movement exercises. Offered in 3- and 5-day intensive formats.
Cost: $650 tax-deductible donation

This four-part webinar series can be taken on its own or as part of the certification pathways for Zen leadership coaches and instructors. It equips one to coach or teach with the unique mind-body personality tool known as FEBI® (Focus Energy Balance Indicator). You’ll learn how to work with the four energy patterns of personality, and the validated tool that measures one’s preferences for them. You’ll also learn how to guide people into a physical experience of each pattern, what each pattern is good for, how each can be problematic when used at the wrong time, and practical ways to develop any pattern. FEBI certification is offered in the spring and fall and qualifies for ICF continuing coach education credits.

Further Zen Training and Zen Assistant Instructor Training
Ongoing Zen training, Sesshin, Zazenkai and other Zen training opportunities are offered through our sister organization, the International Zen Dojo WI (IZD). This includes training offered annually in how to lead a meditation group, which qualifies one as an assistant instructor in Zen. See the IZD website for a schedule of upcoming training events, or contact us for further information.
Physical Training Programs
We augment our Zen leadership programs with deeper physical training that helps leaders work more deeply with themselves and embody learnings. Some of these programs are offered through our sister organization, the International Zen Dojo of WI (IZD).
Also offered through IZD is Zen training at our Spring Green Dojo and Madison Dojo. To support our widespread network of alumni in continuing their meditation, we host an online meditation group and IZD also hosts a monthly video meditation session on Zoom.
